David qualified in Dentistry from Leeds University Dental School and after various general practice and hospital posts, including a (very enjoyable) spell with the Flying Doctor service in Australia, he entered into specialist Orthodontic training. He completed his specialist training in Orthodontics at Liverpool University Dental Hospital & began a Consultant Orthodontist post at the University of Manchester Dental Hospital.

He also works in private specialist orthodontic practice. David was Clinical Lead from 2008- 2018 and is now Training Programme Director (TPD) for Orthodontics within the Manchester region. He is the Chair of British Orthodontic Conference and his first conference was held in Glasgow in 2019. David has supervised MSc dissertations and been published nationally and internationally. He’s also an examiner for the M.Orth examination at the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
