Consultant and Honorary Senior Lecturer in Restorative Dentistry

Following undergraduate study James undertook vocational training in 2004 at Elaine Hawthorn and Associates. He remained in General Dental Practice and was awarded the Diploma of Membership to the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners (MFGDP) in 2006. In 2008 he completed a Masters degree in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with distinction from the University of Manchester.

In 2010 James began specialist training at the University Dental Hospital of Manchester. During this time he attained Membership in Endodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and in 2015 was appointed as Consultant in Restorative Dentistry. He completed a Masters in Dental Public Health in the same year.

James now splits his time between the Dental Hospital and Clinic 334. His Consultant role includes clinical lead for the Emergency Dental Clinics and the development of dedicated dental trauma management and rehabilitation service. He has led the creation of a Greater Manchester Dental Trauma Network offering education and support for dentists across the region and dedicated treatment clinics for the most complex cases. At Clinic 334 he accepts referrals for both surgical and non-surgical endodontic treatment and general restorative cases.

James is the author of several publications and lecturers on many aspects of restorative dentistry and endodontic.
